Background and education
Jeroen Verschakelen graduated (magna cum laude) with a Law Degree from the KU Leuven in 2011 and has also spent a semester at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA). Furthermore, he has successfully completed an LL.M in the field of intellectual property law (magna cum laude) at Odisee Brussels in 2012.
Before working at Everest, he gained considerable experience at the law firm of an international consultancy firm, where he dealt with matters of commercial and corporate law.
Moreover, he has conducted research in the field of protection of personal data at the Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP, KU Leuven).
Jeroen provides advice and assistance on different matters involving economic law, including the law of obligations and contract law.
He has considerable experience in the drafting and reviewing of sales, lease and distribution agreements, as well as various specific types of contracts. In addition, he specialises in the provision of legal advice on the subject of market practices, consumer protection and privacy, and also deals with litigated matters and represents clients in commercial disputes.
