Stijn De Meulenaer
Background and education
Stijn De Meulenaer has obtained a Law Degree from the University of Ghent (1996) and a Masters in Criminology from the University of Liège (1998).
After a short career at the University of Liège (1997-1999), he became a lawyer in Brussels (1998) with the law firms Loeff Claeys Verbeke (currently Allen & Overy Belgium), Altius and Lawfort.
In 2004 he set up the Ghent practice of Lawfort. In the summer of 2007, he founded Burssens & Partners.
Stijn De Meulenaer is active in Corporate Criminal Law and fraud resolution, both in academia and here at the firm.
Besides this, Stijn has broad experience in litigation and in providing legal advice in Commercial Law.
Stijn De Meulenaer is the Executive Professor at the University of Antwerp Management School (UAMS) and he lectures in Criminal Tax Law at Brugge Business School.
He is also a Registered Forensic Auditor (RFA) and member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Forensic Auditors (IFA).
