Entry into force on 12 september 2020 of Singapore convention on mediation
On 12 September 2020 the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation entered into force. Opened for signature in Singapore on 7 August 2019, the Singapore Convention on Mediation has meanwhile been signed by 53 countries and ratified by 5 countries. Offering a common legislative standard for the enforcement of international commercial settlement agreements resulting from mediation, it makes mediation as dispute settlement method more efficient in an international context.
